“Very funny. Clever script and a wonderful way to begin a Saturday.”
“Bravo! Finally a real movie with something to say and funny too. What a comment on humanity.”
“ A hoot and a half! Brilliant cinematography.”
“Mankind IS insane. It seems all we want to do is blow things up. ‘Military Solution’ IS an oxymoron. So making Allan a simpleminded man who loves explosions speaks volumes about our civilization, or at least the last 100 years of it. Maybe the best film I’ve seen in years, certainly one of the most enjoyable.”
“What a find! This is a brilliant film, and with terrific production values. I’m sure some of the bridges and railway explosions were miniatures but they looked pretty good. And Period pieces – costumes and cars and uniforms were terrific!
“Great fun.”
“I’m still laughing.”
“Delightful film! A winner! What a clever inventive and entertaining film! Bravo!”
“Yay! funny at last.”
“A delightful movie. It’s unusual for a light-hearted movie to be so sophisticated and clever.”
“So what does the character of the wimpy perrennial student say about an educational system?
“Creative, funny, full of laughs but not everyone has a sense of wonderful humor and you need it for this movie.”
“Loved it.”
“Want to see the first great summer should be blockbuster film of the Summer? The “100 Year Old Man…” is it! There is more creativity and cleverness in this film than in the barrage of sequels and special effects films soon to come.”
“Very entertaining. Fun to see a movie that requires no figuring out a plot.”
“More Mel Brooks/Woody Allen than Ingmar Bergman. I laughed all the way through…”
“Was this made before or after THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL? Did the creator of this film and Wes Anderson know each other? It had a great “theater of the absurd” feel to it. Loved the journey, the philosophical outlook. It’s interesting the biker gang is named ‘Never Again.’ The audience commentaries about likening it to BEING THERE, ZELIG etc. right on! So many references made me smile and laugh. Life has absurdities, go with the flow.”
“Great!”
“There was a awful lot of peeing in this movie – As a boy, when he blows up the Merchant who leaves his mistress to take a pee, and the many meetings with cold war spies where he meets the young boy after just peeing on his American Cowboy boots.”
“It was a blast!”
“Cross between FOREST GUMP, KEYSTON KOPS and Peter Sellers in BEING THERE.”
“Mad ADVENTURES OF RABBI JOCOB on speed. Spectacular!”
“Bumbling inspector like PINK PANTER.”
“An enjoyable rambling story very well told. It was a relief that Benny who thinks too much was able to get the girl"
“Best time all year.”
“Finally a decent film.”
“Enjoyable romp - overtones of BEING THERE and we should all remember. Tomorrow brings something new!”
“I don’t recall when I laughed so hard at a movie. Excellent crafting of plot, acting and taking the audience on a most enjoyable ride. Bravo!”
