me of THE GRADUATE when they’re seated at the back of the bus. Now what? What have we signed on to? Interesting juxtapositions of life choices. Some great moments getting a glimpse inside of the day to day of Hasidic life; the women, the loneliness of a woman’s day even with all those others around. The insert of the film clip of the black singer playing the guitar was shocking and fabulous. Very even handed in depiction of Hasidism and secular culture.”

society where she probably didn’t belong. Interesting that
in Judaism it is an honor to go to the Yeshiva and to discuss the torah, question the meaning (remember ‘If I were a rich man’?).”
“Loved this movie. I wanted to see them kiss in the worst
way and found the last shot so ominous, but it’s ok that the film deprived us of seeing their well consummation. Seeing the courage and complexity of their choice and the reality of that decision made the film all the more powerful.”
