“Started smiling immediately. Love having NYC as the star.”
“Charming treatment of a not unserious situation. How many couples fail to fit together because of ego? I really enjoyed the humor, music and the images of NYC!”
“Weird, yet wonderful! Excellent acting.”
“A superb cast, literate script and NYC story. That’s a trifecta winner for me.”
“A comic masterpiece for the 21st Century.”
“The characters are well developed and believable. The story was believable and moved with fluidity. Enjoyed the satire and irony. The humor made me chuckle. I could relate to the emotions of the characters. I loved that it is located in downtown Manhattan where I have spent over 10 years of my life.”
“I don’t know if I liked this movie so much. I kind of had my own issues to think about. The acting was good. Characters were well developed. The kids didn’t grow at all, which was weird. Frankly I don’t know why these characters dealt with each other at all.”
“Very Woody Allen including the wonderful NYC street scenes. Greta is the perfect Quaker including her walk. Wardrobe choices define each character even before you get to know them. Very screwball comedy with intellectual underpinning. Beautiful silent vistas both inside NYU and ‘Canada’ shots of the woods. Lily was such a delious choice as the child. Maggie’s environments didn’t feel like what her home would be like since she was so controlling; there might have been more space.”
“I’m not a fan of romantic comedies but I found MAGGIE’S PLAN delightful. It was funny and clever and I loved the great Manhattan/Brooklyn street scenes.”
“Contrived.”
“Oh those wacky college professors! A great send-up of academic intellectuals who haven’t a clue about their own lives and relationships. Proves that in affairs of the heart no one’s an expert.”
“Woody Allen for Gen Xers. And hey maybe there’s a pickle salesman out there for all of us.”
“A charming film showing how people screw up their lives.”
“I wish I liked Maggie just a little more but she was more irritating than quirky, but I loved the ending.”
“Thought provoking and interesting for studying marriage. What makes a good union, who is most suited to be the nurturer of children, of careers, of domesticity? I enjoyed and felt comfortable with New York as the shooting site.”
“Clearly Rebecca has inherited much of Dad’s writing talent, there are some wonderfully witty as well as insightful lines of dialogue.”
“The cute kids were the only thing I particularly liked about this film!”
“Totally enjoyed this film and thank you and Paul so much for all the hours you spend making these Saturdays so interesting for us!” Jeanne K
