MOLLY'S GAME
MOLLY'S GAME is based on the true story of Molly Bloom, an Olympic-class skier who ran the world's most exclusive high-stakes poker game for a decade before being arrested in the middle of the night by 17 FBI agents wielding automatic weapons. Her players included Hollywood royalty, sports stars, business titans and finally, unbeknownst to her, the Russian mob. Her only ally was her criminal defense lawyer Charlie Jaffey, who learned that there was much more to Molly than the tabloids led us to believe.

“The acting was so fine, but the real standout was the writing. So smart.”
“Aaron Sorkin, how did he do it? Take a 2 hour and 20 minute movie and make the pacing, the dialogue and the acting all so snappy that times flows and there wasn’t a scene I wanted out. A great ride. I loved it!”
“More than I ever needed or wanted to know about skiing or poker! Not my Molly Bloom!”
“Academy Awards worthy.”
“Who were the people involved in the card games? Did she really do all those drugs? Did they ever find the guy who beat her up? Best tribute I can give to a film – I want to know more!”
“Engaging, engrossing and so well written and acted! Those speeches – Wow! To memorize and deliver them at that pace! The only scene that did not flow for me was the 3 minute therapy scene, it was too sappy. Learned about poker and gambling, a little. Thanks! I saw trailer and knew I wanted to see it.”
“A complete story, cogently told.”
“A compelling movie based on the book. Acted and written with psychological merit. Acting was just gripping. Oscar worthy. I’m blown away, best movie I’ve scene this year!”
“I expected nothing but I loved it. Fast moving, smart, snappy dialogue. Compelling.”
“Thanks so much John for getting this film for us! I’ve been a fan of Aaron Sorkin since West Wing, and many of his other shows are the best on TV. NEWSROOM is incredible, smart TV.”
“Definitely an attention grabber. A bit too long and some scenes are confusing. Jessica Chastain was excellent.”
“Excellent acting! Character development and unraveling was excellent.”
“Maybe the best film of the year, CERTAINLY the best screenplay of this year or many other years. The park bench scene will be analyzed in acting and screenwriting classes for years to come.”
"In a semester filled with lots of biopics this was the best by far (although MARSHALL was very underrated.) This is an amazing tale of a driven woman (and family) that – if put into a fiction screenplay - would be considered “over the top.”
“Sorkin clearly has watched plenty of his screenplays being shot and directed by some of the best in the business, so this doesn’t look like a first-time director. It moves, it’s visual when it needs to be visual, and he was wide enough not to make it three hours long. Great film.”
