“Very touching film - could be any culture.”
“Great fun movie.”
“A delightful ‘sweet’ in a heavy ‘meat and potato’ world!”
“What a delightful way to start a Saturday morning. I loved the film. It was deliciously real and a bit spicy!”
“The cast members were all fine, but the taxi driver walks away with any scene he is in. Terrific way to start a day. Loved the way their family’s religion was so smoothly integrated into their everyday life.”
“A delightful film that I will talk up enthusiastically. My only complaint was the soundtrack, which was engineered too loud for me. Beyond that, a charming and affecting story very well told.”
“A delight!”
“Delightful tear-jerker.”
“What a fun movie – great food! Great chemistry between the characters.”
“A real delight!”
“Yes, that’s a formula screenplay, much like the emotionless recipes scorned on in the film. Yet not every recipe is bland. This one is filled with the spice of life and love, and the great ingredients of wonderful characters, respect for settings and cultures, and the magic of Aasif’s performance. And what’s so bad about a happy ending anyway? I’ll take that over – as the producer said – “edgy” any day of the week!!!!!
“Heart-warming film.”
“Lovely and sweet film. A very pleasant 90 minutes.”
“Beautifully done dealing with intergenerational, intercultural, and multi ethnic issues. Do we all come back? Yes, we have to leave to appreciate what we have and what we came from.”
“A delightful story of a young man coming to grips with his family, his culture and himself. This was a great picture.”
“It’s a wonderful film! Brought tears to my eyes but not a tear jerker.”
“Charming film.”
“Loved it! A great sequel to BABETTE’S FEAST with somewhat different cuisine and culture! A fun romp and Mr. Shah was amazing.”
“BON APPETIT!”
“No BABETTE’S FEAST, but the food looked gorgeous! The 3 old men were wonderful and the taxi driver/cook was the spirit and heart of the film.”
“A recipe for life. I too need a sous chef. Wonderful film. Everyone should see it and learn from it.”
“Cute film, nicely done, but storyline was very predictable.”
“Wonderful feel good movie. I loved it!”
“Charming film.”
“This film achieved its goal on every level: A man struggling with his cultural heritage, family pressures, his love life and using food to make his point. Indian food is my absolute favorite cuisine. Living on the Upper West Side, we’re surrounded by mediocre Indian restaurants. It took us years to find a hole in the wall which had changed chefs (we found out thru our favorite waiter who we’ve followed around!). I want this restaurant in my neighborhood! By the way Aasif is the best reporter on THE DAILY SHOW. Please let him know we want him to stay. This film will launch his filmmaking career.”
“Splendid and touching film.”
“Charming film. Great cast. Great food. Very universal.”
“Best food movie I’ve seen since JULIE AND JULIA!”
“Wonderful film. It builds beautifully. My only criticism, the music over opening credits is a little too loud.”
“Great to see a film that has a positive message about life, etc., without being political.”
“Thank you! We need a chance to see real people doing real things.”
“Don’t come hungry! The look of the food makes me want to run to this particular restaurant. The guy who plays the taxi driver is the gem of the film. He is the magic! What a magnificent voice and watching his hands was like seeing music being played. You totally believe he is the character.”
“A wonderful light hearted appetizing film!”
“Yum!"
“Delicious and heartfelt. Lovely story.”
“Well done and charming film. I really enjoyed it.”
