“Loved the shots, close-ups, high angle. An interesting story that was done cinematically beautiful.”
“A painful movie to watch and listen to.”
“Interesting, however, too long and too many shots that lingered too long. Successful flashbacks.”
“Can a film that hates women and people in general be successful art?”
“Very interesting and captivating. Very interesting narrative. The mood, the look of the film, the pacing. Cruel and beautiful.”
“I kept looking for the surprise twist. The twist was that the twist never came. We get a gripping; uncomfortable moving train ride to an obvious ending that the audience believes is not obvious. Usual suspects, fatal attraction, but better in Portuguese.”
“To me, the best part of this film were the closing titles and the cinematography. The story was depressingly familiar, the subtitles were riddled with typos and the reveal was plodding yet unsurprising.”
“Well made film. What a morality tale driven to madness. Bernardo - what a wolf. Well shot. Psychologically fascinating. An interesting study of power relationships between men and women too. The end I found odd that the child didn’t question where she was being taken.”
“Brilliantly crafted. And chilling to learn this was based on a true story. Thank you John!”
“Well done film...the ending was horrific. However it was a well-done film. Why did the gun have to be shown in the movie? Not necessary for her to tell she bought it.”
“Didn’t love it. You can make anything into the Emperor’s Clothes.”
“The film would have been intriguing and would lead me to John’s class were it a vehicle for intro to filmmaking. I would love it as a way into the craft of film.”
“Devastating! Sexual desire sure can screw you up. Take that 50 SHADES OF GREY fans!”
“’Fatal Attraction’ with a twist. A cautionary tale to stay away from marital affairs with psychopaths. Too much sex, not enough story or character, but interesting,”
“Proof it doesn’t pay to screw around!”
“Get that girl Rosa a job!”
“Morality tale that rips your heart out; it ripped mine. Rosa needed to destroy Bernardo’s life.... telling his wife was having a affair (while she was indeed blossoming!). Then underhandedly and cruelly stole her child, so she had to steal his. My only objection is ruining the ending by broadcasting the intimate end of the little girl with a gun. Many men feel it’s their nature to screw. Their right to live their lives with their 3rd head.”
