LOVED IT!
Pierce Brosnan is all you need. But actually all the actors were terrific.
Corny but cute.
Some will claim that’s either the most romantic final scene in movie history or the most maudlin. It was certainly one of the prettiest. Take some guidance from last week’s film ‘what is this, Barbara Cartland?
Good plot.
I loved, loved, loved it!
Totally predictable, but delightful and gorgeous.
A long way from Dogma 95 in some ways but not in others. Great naturalistic settings and scenes and the obligatory hand-held camera, but warmer – dare I say almost fuzzier – than even Bier’s previous films. Told a passionate story about a lot of people who had lost passion.
Predictable but I enjoyed it anyway.
It was pleasant to watch. The movie touched on many of life difficulties, perhaps too many in one film. However I went with the flow and enjoyed it.
Enjoyable.
A warm, humane, intelligent film.
A truly brave picture, done with intelligence, defying genre clichés, with a curious mix of reality and romance. Hollywood can take some lessons from the Danes.
Nice story. Glad Pierce Brosnan got a pay check.
The casting, the casting! Next to Brosnan anyone would look like a toad…let alone comparing him to Leif. A feel good move filled with optimism.
The storyline seems to get lost and never really gets going.
You thought the French were wacky last week with IN THE HOUSE. These Danes are just as crazy, but with Ida and Brosnan a whole lot better looking.
Ho-Hum! Nothing unexpected, dramatic or compelling. I’m just grateful that Pierce Brosnan didn’t bleat any ABBA songs.
Ida was beautiful and her acting stood out. As predictable as a puddle forming after a spring shower and just as shallow. (Spoiler alert!) I think the entire audience knew Patrick was gay before he did. Given the beautiful settings, couldn’t they have done more with the cinematography? Norwegian, but could easily been American.
Examines many issues involved in human relationships. People often do things for the wrong reasons.
A lovely to look at, feel-good story that explores choices made in life. What people know/don’t want to acknowledge what people think they want in life and realize it may not be what they want. I think the director ,should have left the ending them just sitting there without opening looking at the letter. Kind of a Hollywood ending. The acting was great.
Ida must have been confused from all the chemotherapy. She has to choose between her boorish, clueless, philandering husband and Pierce Brosnan, and it takes her 110 minutes??!?!!?
Scenery was outstanding. Pierce looked great! He gets better with age!
Predictable cancer sentimental romantic filmmaking.
To expect the Beatles and get Dean Martin was a bit jarring. Pierce Brosnan is the sexiest grandfather on the planet. Negatives - an emotional film with very much emotion, yet I felt nothing; even with a woman with breast cancer it just left me flat. But even lemons can be sweet…just don’t suck.
